Olga Meadows

Piano, Keyboard, Theory

Her approach to music education is that it has to be first and foremost - FUN! She feels that her students learn more readily when they are enjoying themselves! She employs similar strategies for all her students, whether they be six or sixty-six, whether they be studying for an examination or playing purely for pleasure.

She has studied at the Music Academy in Lithuania, where she gained her Masters Degree and has also completed the CT ABRSM Professional Development Course and Diploma ABRSM (Teaching). She also has attended and completed a Jazz ABRSM course with one of the leading piano jazz pianist, ABRSM examiner, composer and writer Tim Richards. She regularly participates in professional development courses, e.g. 'THE VIRTUOSO TEACHER' with Paul Harris, an improvisation course with Dorothy Shaw. She has played with jazz bands for a number of years, taking part in many local events. She has also been a member of choir 'Oxford Pro Musica Singers' (Michael Smedley conductor), that enabled her to take part in many major events, both in this country and abroad.

She has been teaching piano/keyboard and music theory for the past 25 years, not only as a self-employed tutor but also at the following schools:
Harpur Music School, Bedford
Technics Music Academy, Abingdon
The Abingdon Music Centre
Abingdon Music Practice
Manor Prep
Cranford House

There are always opportunities for her students to take part in EPTA competitions, local festivals, concerts and piano workshops. She is a recognised tutor for both ABRSM and Guildhall examination boards and a member of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA).
