Lorraine has been teaching the piano and flute since 2006 when she gained her CT ABRSM (piano teaching), which she then followed by gaining her Dip(ABRSM) in Piano Pedagogy in 2007.  In 2023 Lorraine achieved her PhD in Music Education after ten years of dedicated study. She feels that this has given her enormous and valuable insight into the development of musical intelligence, which is at the heart of her work. She also holds a BA in Modern Languages, a MA in Music and Popular Culture, and a black belt in Karate!

Lorraine joined Matrix Arts Centre in 2018, and has never looked back. She teaches Apple Music, Music Wonderland, Junior Music Course, Junior Fundamental Course and Junior Extension Course as well as individual lessons. A firm believer in sound before symbol, Lorraine loves the Yamaha method of teaching music and especially enjoys the group aspect of it, and the joy it brings to the children.
